Hilary sees patients Monday & Tuesday from 9.00am - 3.00pm, Wednesday & Friday from 9.00am—4.00pm and Thursday from 9.00am-1.00pm
She is mainly involved in preventative care to help people stay healthy, eg Well Woman/Man checks, immunisations, life style advice, blood tests, cervical smears, travel advice, help with smoking cessation and losing weight and regular reviews for people with hypertension, heart disease, asthma or diabetes. She also undertakes dressings, removal of stitches and ear syringing.

Community Nurses
| Linda Strachan, Rosemary Johnson and Rachel Muir provide district nursing and midwifery services to patients in the community and in the Health Centre. They are employed by Shetland Health Board and accept referrals from your doctor, hospital staff or yourself. They are based in the nurse’s room within the Health Centre and can be contacted by phoning 01957-702233. The answerphone will inform the caller of how to contact the nurse on call. There is a district nurse resident in Fetlar and they can be contacted on: 01957-733228 (out of hours 01957-733382) |
Health Visitors
Mrs Lynne Jones (f) Lynne visits Yell every Friday. Please contact reception on 01957-702127 to arrange an appointment with her. |
Attached Staff
| The physiotherapist no longer attends the Health Centre. In the meantime patient will need to travel to Lerwick to be seen by a physiotherapist. Referrals are made through your doctor. You can also self-refer to the physiotherapy team. Forms are available at the health centre and the leisure centre. |
| A chiropodist/podiatrist attends the Health Centre fortnightly on a Tuesday. Patients are referred by the GP. |
| There is a locum Consultant Psychiatrist. Referrals are made by the GP. |
