Welcome to the Yell and Fetlar Practice.  Dr Briscoe and Dr Aquilina have a job sharing arrangement.  You will have been assigned to the list of one of them for administrative purposes, but you are free to make an appointment with either.

An appointment system is used for all surgeries and the times are detailed in the Practice Leaflet.  Saturday surgeries can tend to be very busy as some of our patients work or study off the island and can only attend on Saturdays and others can only get transport at the weekend.  If your problem is not urgent and you can attend during the week we would be grateful if you could avoid booking a Saturday appointment.

To make appointment or for urgent advice out-of-hours telephone 01957 702127.  After hours an answering machine will give you the duty doctors number so please have a pen and paper handy.

We have a practice nurse, Hilary Franklin, and you can make appointments with her for general advice on a health lifestyle, immunisations, ear syringing, etc.  The practice staff can give you further details.

When you have registered we will request your records be passed on from your previous doctor.  This often takes several months so it would be most helpful if you could fill in our new patient health questionnaire.  We would also like to offer you an appointment with us so that we can meet and discuss any health queries you may have and also carry out a few basic checks such as weighing you and checking your blood pressure.

If you would like to have an appointment for a “new patient check” please arrange this with the practice staff.  If would be helpful if you could bring a sample of urine to your appointment.
